What is the Baardskeerdersbos Art Route all about?

History

Since 2008 a group of artists, who have pioneered a creative lifestyle in this unpretentious little hamlet, have opened up their houses and studios to share their creativity with art lovers.

Shows are hosted in artists homes and various venues around town. Historically, workshops are also conducted over the course of the week or weekend depending on the length of the show and the artists in attendance.

More about the Artwork

The resident and guest artists work with a wide range of materials and techniques. You can find sculpture, photography, drawings, paintings, collage, works made from reclaimed or found objects. There is also usually a very strong connection to nature in the works considering the wonderful place where the host artists live.

The artwork exhibited is for sale during and after the show.

DIRTY WEEKEND - A chance to get your hands dirty!

September 24, 25 and 26th, 2022, we will be having our 2nd Dirty Weekend - a time for any- and every-one to come to the village and take art workshops, see art, meet fun people, and join in on events.

You can see full listings here.

You can find the artists' telephone  numbers on our contact page.
